Heading to Estonia today

We wind up our time here in Riga with or last breakfast before heading to Tallinn in Estonia some 400 kms away, this trip will be by private transfer. As we will be taking in some other tourist attractions on the way this trip is scheduled for about 7.30 hrs, so let’s hang on to our hats this could be interesting. The cross border transport arrives smack on time with Reinhold at the wheel of a flash VW Passat, this will also be a history lesson because we all immediately like him . As we leave Riga behind he tells so much about his country and it’s long battle to haul its self into the 21centuary, after many occupations by various countries. First stop for the day are the bog plains which we all found very interesting until we saw a snake out in the 8 Celsius weather, after a couple of happy snaps he moved on and so did we to the boarder crossing from Latvia to Estonia. Not a lot to see just a couple of posts and signs, we are now heading to Parnu the Gold Coast of Estonia. This beautiful old beach side town has nothing on Australian beaches but it was ok, time for some lunch in Parnu. We lob in Tallinn about 4.30 only to discover that our hotel is smack bang on the edge of the old town , we dump our gear and were off to explore this ancient city and we are not disappointed. My ship has sailed so goodnight........WADDA
